A for applications

Since I would be doing up an online application for my outcome, I started off with some research of a few popular applications that has the core of sharing experiences. Also, to use as case studies for research and study the functionality of these social media applications. The layouts on the applications are user friendly which is probably why people choose to use them. Also, they can be a guideline for me to refer to.

1. Visual Supply Co

Visual Supply Co (VSCO) is a company passionate about creating beautiful and efficient digital tools for the modern creative. VSCO allows users to edit colours for photographs taken on smart phones which is convenient and easy. Other than that, they have the vsco grid which is a sharing space with others after editing the photographs. Vsco has a sleek design which is really easy to use and simple, most of all, letting the photographs from individuals to speak for themselves.

VSCO also believes that beauty can be found and documented by anyone, anywhere.

2. Instagram

Instagram is a fun and quirky way to share your life with friends through a series of pictures. Snap a photo with your mobile phone, then choose a filter to transform the image into a memory to keep around forever. This app has been around for a few years and in par with twitter and Facebook, some people refer it to twitter for people who are bad at words, because this app is a focus on visuals.

However, it is about sharing of experiences and memories with people using visuals and moving visuals. Another interactive thing instagram has is #, hashtags. One can navigate into categories by using the hashtag.

3. Pinterest

Pinterest is a visual discovery tool that people use to collect ideas for their different projects and interests. People create and share collections (called “boards”) of visual bookmarks (called “Pins”) that they use to do things like plan trips and projects, organize events or save articles and recipes. 

The idea is "Pinning" pictures or text is like collecting things and pinning them on a personal board. However, another user can repine these post and they will be spread into different areas, which is a brilliant idea because it is made so convenient and sharable between users. 

I think these three applications will be good guidelines for me to refer to, because I'm sure they are good moments sharing platforms thats why they are so popular and used by many.
