Playing with kaleidoscope lens

Psychedelic, iridescence, shimmer, trippy, holographic, these are the things that makes up the h0les fashion glasses which inspired me to design something similar for Play on perspective. They were worn by lady gaga before and yes it looks so awesome I want a pair for myself too, but picture yourself wearing them, yes you will see magic and probably get high on nothing or perhaps see new things. Seeing new things, seeing new possibilities is the main objective of our collab on my part.

These are what you will see when you put on the glasses, it is amazing. Imagine roaming the streets or looking at things up close or at a distance, I can think of so many possibilities it will bring. Plus, they look so yummy visually. My partner and I planned on making a glasses for designers to wear but we noticed that it will surely be dangerous when worn and having to walk at the same time. Like what the brand said : "These glasses are conceptual accessories. They aren't sensible. But hopefully you are.So we are not liable for any injuries or damages caused by use of these products. We want you to experience, experiment and explore, but we want you to be safe. "

So I decided to extract this concept and visual and build it onto another element to form a outcome. I recalled myself using jelly lens on my smart phone a few years back. Then it was trendy and almost everyone's favourite before apps and digital filters on smartphones too over.

Jelly lens are available in many different varieties, there is the fisheye lens, filter lens, sparkle lens and multi-effect lens. Basically, the user just stick them to the camera lens on the smart phone. The lens has a sticky gum base which makes it easy to attach and remove. It provides lots of fun and allows the user to be creative. Moreover, it is so light weight and portable.
I was thinking of using the disposable camera, the third outcome I had last semester which I might most slightly not use because of the art direction and design that does not sync with the rest of my outcomes. I plan to revamp the design and make it in sync to the collab art direction, then attach the kaleidoscope lens at the front. But I would need to try if the lens can be mounted onto the camera’s lens.

The type of images/visuals that I hope my camera can achieve, having endless possibilities and inspirations. Just by imagining the possible visuals already got me excited.
