Snap it

I was searching for an alternative other than a QR code but works exactly like one and I chanced upon something that uses the same technology but does not appears in messy pixels. It is called the snap tag. It only works on smart phones which most people now have a smart phone of their own which also has a in built camera. Snaptags are easy and convenient for consumers. A standard camera phone would be good enough to function be it iPhone or Android devices. Consumers instantly receive access to special offers, coupons, sweepstakes or prizes, or exclusive content such as videos, ringtones, product information and much, much more.

Snaptags allows brands to design your their logo QR code. And the gaps in the code ring can be moved to thousands of different positions so to create a thousand different logo-code combinations to fit any campaign objective.

It can also be stickers and placed on products, for example this is a medical bottle and to find out more details and descriptions about it, the consumer can scan the logo with a smart phone and get to more details.

I downloaded the snap tag reader on my phone and tested it out. It will detect the circular tag and scans almost immediately, if the tag is active and sans successfully the circle will turn green. It will first be yellow and turns red if the campaign tag is inactive. It will also lead u to the brand's current campaign or promotion.

I did some drafts of how my scantag will look like, it will be placed either with the made up curiosity logo or the smell logo used in the app. This scantag should also be part of the app which I will be showing in my app demo.

Consumers with either a standard or smart camera phone get instant access to offers, content, promotions and information by snapping and sending a picture of the SnapTag to a designated short code. Or by scanning the SnapTag using a SnapTag Reader App. In my case, this logo should be tagged onto the test tube, and using the reader that will be in the app, the user will scan it and link it back to their smell experience.
